Warren’s 29th birthday was on Wednesday, and so of course, I used it as an excuse to cook as much as possible.
For breakfast, I whipped up these very easy pancakes, scrambled a few eggs with Rotel, and I zapped some bacon in the microwave.
Since we weren’t sure what time Warren would get home from work, we decided that I’d cook him a bday dinner instead of going out. I finally got the opportunity to set the table for the first time in our new house.
I decided to go with a Spanish themed dinner, so we started with this incredibly simple tomato salad called Ajotomate Murciano.
The main course was this lobster paella. This is my go-to special occasion dinner for Warren. It’s shockingly easy to make (if you can find lobster) and super delicious!
This is one of the first years that I didn’t bake Warren a birthday cake. Normally I make the cake the day before his bday, but I was busy making Nutella stuffed chocolate chip cookies for him to take into work, so I decided to go with one of his favorite ice creams — Ben and Jerry’s Half-Baked.
We were both in a food coma by the end of dinner, but that’s what birthdays are for 🙂
